Anyone else not feel entirely sane without 10 hours of sleep or more each day? How much sleep do you typically get and what is the minimum needed to keep you "normal"? This is my first time posting here by the way.

Re: minimum sleep quotas
Tue, September 7, 2004 - 6:40 PMTen is way too much for me. I end up feeling like a slight hang over or feel groggy all day. I do however like ten if I have been up for a couple days. That is often the best sleep. I like around 7-8 hours tops. -

I seem to do well on 6hr (any less and I'm a mess) up to 8.5hr (any more and I'm a mess.) -

Re: minimum sleep quotas
Wed, September 8, 2004 - 2:11 PM6-8 hours here. Except when I owe some sleep debt, which is usually after every Friday and Saturday night. But lately, Fridays are tough for me to stay up unless I take a long, lazy nap after work.
Which sounds pretty good right now, in fact... -

Re: minimum sleep quotas
Wed, September 8, 2004 - 10:43 PMI read or heard somewhere that more than around 8 or 9 hours of sleep is actually unhealthy. I get kind of scattered with less than that though. -

Re: minimum sleep quotas
Fri, October 15, 2004 - 10:35 AMI am quite unhealthy mentally if I get less than 9 hours each session. I can go a night or two on less, but then I start breaking down. More than 10 makes me groggy too, so I don't have much margin. I have quite happily slept 18 hours, though, after I stayed up for a couple of days. -

Re: minimum sleep quotas
Sat, October 23, 2004 - 10:34 PM7-8 for me. Although I could indulge in more, I'm physically sated on that and pscholoically feel like I've wasted the day with more. Though, napping to fill the gap and even go overquota never seems to bother me. :) I LOVES me some naps! -

Re: minimum sleep quotas
Wed, May 25, 2005 - 5:14 PMBet. 7 and 9, usually 8-9. On Sundays I like to overdo it a bit because that's the only day I can sleep in. Of course, it's easier to sleep late if you've stayed up late!

Re: minimum sleep quotas
Sun, January 29, 2006 - 4:20 PMMy body loevs a good 9 hours...however it usually gets closer to 6 because my natual clock is to stay up to 12m or so and as the work forces won't work with me in sleeping in till 9on a daily basis...well, I'm to sleep about 12:30-1 and up at 630. Phooey.
When I catch up on sleep, I can put away 11 hours no problem.
