I remember back in college having a programming problem I couldn't solve. I was tired, even though it was 3 in the afternoon. While asleep, I dreamt the solution and it WORKED!
Anyone else experience anything similar?

Re: Solve any problems while asleep?
Mon, December 29, 2003 - 10:38 AMI have also done problem solving in my sleep. I was pretty amazed that a hypothesis that I proved in my dream actually worked in reality. The only difference was with this dream state was a little different then regular REM sleep. I felt semi aware that I was sleeping. -

Mon, December 29, 2003 - 7:09 PMYeah. I was semi-aware as well. Felt really interesting. it felt almost like I was living outside of time because, at least for me, I can't tell time when asleep.

Re: Solve any problems while asleep?
Mon, December 29, 2003 - 10:20 PMI taught myself how to drive stick in a dream.
I've been able to lucid dream all my life. Look for inconsistancies. Like the other night I realized, wait a minute, I know it's a mess, but I've never had to squeeze through a crawlspace in order to get to my room before. After that, it was all flying and sex. -

Re: Solve any problems while asleep?
Tue, December 30, 2003 - 4:30 PMDamn. I had a crash course (an hour's worth) in driving stick before I had to drive from Boston to Pittsburgh. Even then I stalled 2 times before a toll both and again after I paid the toll. ha ha ha.
I guess you have the best dreams...driving, flying, and sex...

Re: Solve any problems while asleep?
Fri, January 2, 2004 - 1:59 PMI was in a lucid dream one morning where I was in total darkness and I started thinking of this piano piece I composed when I was younger. While going through it in my head, I heard it clearly in my ears. I started thinking of other instruments and I would heard them too seperate and distinct to the other notes and keys that I was playing with the instruments. It was pretty sick then it occured to me, if man was to experience omniscient, he would have to be out of his mind.
