Insomnia

Recently, I have had the habit of waking up in the middle of the night, or early in the morning, despite how tired I actually am.

This is accompanied by a never ending cavlacade of thoughts, a stream of conciousness that reveals incredible beauty, but refuses to let go! As a musician, I find it incredibly annoying to not have a moments rest. It's equivalent to working all day and all night.

In the afternoons and evenings I always get really tired as a result.

Any hints to cure my insomnia?

    I've always heard that eating an apple or drinking some apple juice before going to bed helps one realx and sleep deeper and better. Lately, I've been eating some apple baby food (yes... baby food) when I get home from work, and it seems to be working.
    When I was in highschool I started suffering from insomnia, and I used to drink a cup of warm milk with honey, and it did the trick.
    I also like taking a hot shower before I go to bet. The more realxed I am the better I'll sleep, of course.
    try taking some deep breaths and realxing every muscle in your body (pretend like you're a rag doll) when you go to bed. Concentrating on these 2 things (breathing and relaxing) you're mind will 'quiet down', you'll see.
